VINCENT VAN GOGH PHOTO AWARD

THE WINNERS – 2019

VINCENT VAN GOGH PHOTO AWARD

WINNER 2019 : Reiny Bourgonje – ‘Black Pearl’

JURY REPORT :

The 1st place goes to a special portrait of a young girl. The intriguing glance gives the viewer a mix of feelings. Does she want to tell something? And what does she want to say? Or is she caught in the moment? Is she on the run and does she have a message? A catchy portrait of a young dark girl standing in a corn field. That is why this photo “Black Pearl” by Reiny Bourgonje is the winner of the 2nd Vincent van Gogh Photo Award, Faces of the World.

2nd. PLACE : Marjan Bogers – ‘kind van de rekening’

JURY REPORT :

The photo that finished in 2nd place has a clear message for our children. The face indicates the future for these children when it comes to our live able environment and the intensive industry and the emissions it produces. A compilation of images, executed in a clearly confronting story. Something that children have no influence on, but must live with now and especially later. With that, “kind van de rekening” finished in 2nd place for photographer Marjan Bogers.

3rd. PLACE : Carola Kayen-Mouthaan – ‘Farried’

JURY REPORT :

On the 3rd place a photo which received a lot of attention. Fine art, as she describes herself. A clearly carefully selected model that has two faces / two faces due to its skin condition. Dark and light in one, executed as a still life that you keep looking at. This 3rd place is for the photo ‘Farried’ by Carola Kayen-Mouthaan
