Rules
Rules
- The photo(s) must fit within the theme: “Spirit of Light” (through the eyes of Vincent van Gogh)
- Only digital photo(s) can be accepted. Images in RGB, Adobe-1998, or not color-processed
- Each picture file is to be enclosed in RGB, JPG format, of at least 3000 pixels (longest side), 300 dpi, and a file size of at least 2 MB and preferably not more than 5 MB.
The images should be sent without frames, watermarks, or logos. - Image editing is allowed to a certain extent, but we apply clear boundaries.
What we do not allow is significant manipulation of photos.
This includes:
- Completely distorting images or combining multiple photos into one new composition (with the exception of stacking techniques, for example, due to lens limitations or challenging shooting conditions).
- Altering faces to such an extent that people become unrecognizable or appear unnatural.
What is allowed — and what we do not consider image manipulation — is image enhancement / Light editing.
This includes sharpening, applying HDR, color correction, adjusting contrast and saturation, and other adjustments that improve the photo without fundamentally altering its original content.
- The sender claims to be the owner of the photograph(s) and, if applicable, to hold the portrait
rights. - By submitting the sender provides the foundation permission for the photograph(s) (with copyright credit the photographer) to be used for the implementation and promotion of this event, without additional compensation.
All photographers retain copyright on their submitted images. - Pornographic-, sexual-, violent-, and / or offensive material will not be posted.
- The Foundation reserves the right to refuse these photographs.
- Any and all subsequent costs incurred shall be borne by the sender.
For all winning entries, we always request the original RAW file for verification.
